Start with search intent and location intent

Local SEO depends on matching how real customers search. A plumber, dentist, roofer, lawyer, clinic, salon, or contractor usually needs city and service intent to appear clearly on the website. The homepage should make the business name, service area, primary services, and contact path obvious.

A useful audit checks whether the target city and service category appear naturally in titles, headings, body copy, internal links, and conversion sections without turning the page into awkward keyword repetition.

Check NAP, trust, and conversion signals

Name, address, and phone signals help users and search engines understand the business. Look for a visible phone number, address or service area, opening hours, contact page, clickable email, maps, review proof, and consistent footer information.

Conversion readiness matters too. If the site hides the phone number, has no quote button, buries the contact form, or lacks trust proof, traffic may not turn into leads even when rankings improve.

Review technical health and mobile speed

Technical SEO supports crawlability and user experience. Check titles, descriptions, canonical structure, sitemap, robots, headings, internal links, broken or placeholder links, image alt text, HTTPS, and structured data.

Mobile speed is especially important for local visitors. PageSpeed and Core Web Vitals give agencies a concrete way to explain slow loading, large images, unused scripts, layout shift, and blocking resources.
